This clutch was made using the stronger Maverick X3 parts but then modified to make it bolt up and work on a Defender HD8 and Maverick 800! What you have now is a ready-to-bolt and use primary clutch rated for more than triple the HP of the original Defender HD8 and Maverick 800 clutch!
Some upgraded parts include the reinforced towers with steel-plated slides to prevent button wear on the aluminum housing. It also has the stronger X3 style top cover (aka Governor cup assembly).
The great news is, even though it's a lot tougher than the original HD8/ 800 clutch we have it pre tuned for your machine .
It comes ready to bolt on and use ! The new weights and spring are already in it and is 100% complete, ready to bolt on and use!

Can-Am Defender HD9+HD10 (2016+) Upgrade to Heavy Duty Primary Clutch + Puller
New Mother Clutcher HD primary clutch and puller tool made for 2016-2023 Can-Am Defender HD10 and the 2021-2023 Defender HD9 models.
This clutch was made using the stronger Maverick X3 parts but then modified to make it bolt up and work on a Defender HD10! What you have now is a ready-to-bolt and use primary clutch rated for more than double the HP of the original Defender HD9 & HD10 clutch!
Some upgraded parts include that it has the reinforced towers with the steel-plated slides to prevent button wear on the aluminum housing. It also has the stronger X3 style top cover (aka Governor cup assembly). The great news is, even though it's a lot tougher than the original HD8 clutch, we have it pre-tuned for the Defender HD10 ( and 2021-2023 HD9).
This upgrade also lets the engine rev up a little higher to areas that unlock more of your mid range - full throttle torque and power. The mid throttle rpm's are approximately 400 rpms higher while full throttle, this clutch is tuned 600-800 rpms higher than stock until you exceed 55 mph. Once you exceed 55 mph, the top end is the same as the OEM primary which was 7200-7500 rpms.

Can-Am Maverick Sport 1000-R (2019+) Primary Clutch X MR RC 1000R
Mother Clutcher complete balanced primary clutch for 2019 and newer Maverick Sport 1000R.
Comes ready to install with weights and spring in it ready to use. Comes with puller tool to remove your old primary clutch.
This replacement new primary clutch is made as an OE style primary clutch with two upgrades. They are upgraded stainless slides bolted next to the button area to reduce wear from friction, also the weights design is improved for quieter less noisy clutch at idle (more details on those below).
FITMENT:
Only fits 2019-current MAVERICK SPORT 1000R (all packages including X, MR, RC, etc...)
Does NOT work well on any X3-R or X3-RR as its not tuned for that.
Does NOT work on original first made style of Maverick 1000 (MUST BE A 2019+ Maverick SPORT 1000R)
2021-current Commander 1000R
CLUTCH UPGRADES: The stainless metal plates bolted next to the button area on the primary clutch prevent buttons from making contact /wearing into the aluminum clutch housing (please see last pic to compare). Can-Am only offered this upgrade on higher-end R/RR models so that makes this a bolt-on upgrade for your Maverick Sport 1000R.
The other upgrade is the weights. The weights on the original OEM 1000R stock primary clutch use all 6 weight slots but are low profile weights that do not contact the rollers when below 2400 rpm while engine is at idle. That causes them to bounce around at idle and make a metal on metal ticking sound. Our fix for this was to use same amount of total weight as the original primary but to do it with 4 thicker weights instead if 6 thin weights. This way they make contact with the rollers fully at idle and prevent the annoying tapping sounds. For this reason you will notice 2 of the 6 weight slots in the clutch are not used, the clutch is still balanced as the two weights not used are directly across from each other so does not effect the balance of the clutch.
